Rotary CMB Regency; Journey in Covid Relief

- Feature on Daily Mirror.

"This weekend I am sharing this space with an organization that has an inspiring journey of creating value, rendering great service and moving towards achieving health promotion. As much as they have been attentive to many causes over time, they are now humbly in action to support the COVID-19 pandemic that is in dire need of consistent support. With today’s conversation I hope to see all of us being invigorated to make great big things happen, even if it means to start with simple beginnings. I warmly welcome PHF Past President Rtn. Gehan de Alwis representing the Rotary Club of Colombo Regency and the Project Co-Chair for their Covid19 Relief Project."

In the midst of a pandemic, we have disasters from mother nature to contend with too.

We are now faced with the aftermath of the floods; many are homeless and have lost all their belongings. Do join us to donate an essential pack of 17 items consisting of linen, pans, and basic non-consumables where they can prepare their food etc., We must all do what we can to help people be nourished and healthy during these pandemic times.

Oxygen Unit Installation - Update - Delivery of HFNC and O2 Regulators

Project Implementation - Status update 2:

Gas World has now finished the installation of 12 x O2 outlets at ward 4 and 2 x O2 outlets the preliminary care unit (PCU). The balance 6 are to be installed at ward 7; however there are already Covid patients there, hence, the hospital needs to move these patients out and thoroughly disinfect the ward before they can get Gas World to go in there.

This may take a few days as per Dr. Eranga. But he's happy to have 14 up and running on Monday, 24th May 2021.

We will go on Monday morning with the HFNC unit and the regulators and officially hand those over.

The balance 13 regulators - originally scheduled to arrive on Saturday are delayed as the flight carrying it from UK has been delayed. Hopefully this also will be in hand by Monday

Stay tuned for next update by EOD Tuesday!
